When you have an accident in your car, you feel that nothing worse could happen at that time. But think for a second that you were to have an accident in your friends’ car, and then try to compare the difference. You would obviously feel much worse. This is what happened to the owner of this VR Holden Commodore. His best friend accidently smashed the car, but owner Dean says that it was a blessing in disguise.

“Without the accident, none of this would have ever happened”

Luckily for Dean, his friend was also good with tools, and as such the two spent countless hours toiling away and turning it into what you see before you. With the car now at a satisfactory level, the future plans for the car only include the fitment of nitrous and a roll cage and then to simply enjoy it.

The car is also a poster-boy of sorts for Petersham Service Centre who is accredited the vast majority of modifications performed on the car. They started with a 383 stroker and Skat conrods, Ross pistons, ARP head studs and a custom grinded camshaft. The heads have also been ported and aftermarket roller rockers have also been fitted. A twin throttle body has found its way into the engine bay and a set of Pacemaker extractors find themselves out of the engine bay. Other additions which serve for purpose and aesthetics include a custom catch can, Gilmer drive, Master Blaster coils, MSD unit, LS1 injectors, VN fuel rail, fuel cell in the boot, surge tank and external fuel pumps. All of the fuel lines have also been upgraded with braided items. This is all good for a proven 365 horsepower at the rear wheels. Strengthened gears and an RPM clutch hold the power to the wheels and help keep it on the ground.

An SS bodykit was fitted when the bodywork was repaired and a coat of fresh factory red was applied over the whole car. Dean would like to thank his friend George Eid for the hard work, time and effort. The exterior of the car is also finished off with 18x8 inch Speedy Hp Design alloy wheels and fitted off with 235/45 tyres. These are brought closer to the guards with the assistance of Pedders Sports Rider springs and Pedders lowered shock absorbers.

To finish off the car, a modest stereo consist of an Alpine V12 amplifier powering Polk Audio splits in the front and rear and all sources come from an Alpine head unit.
