It was a cold morning and mother nature had woken us all up with tornado like winds sweeping through the open area. With the sun still managing to shine through, there was a great turnout at Frankies Auto Electrics in Albion Park Rail for their next SPL Competition and Sound Off.
Cars showed up in numbers and eagerly registered to get the chance to see how many decibels their stereo systems could make. After the qualifying rounds, some big numbers were presenting themselves already, meaning that the later elimination rounds were going to be hotly contested.
There was plenty to look at, with Option Audio and Pioneer showing off their latest range with their Demo Cars open wide and blasting away to keep the crowd entertained. Meanwhile, the promo girls walked around and entered all the competitors and spectators into the Lucky Prize Draw where Frankies were kindly offering a set of Vibe BlackAir6 speakers and a Pioneer 12" subwoofer to two lucky spectators!
After feeding on the supplied BBQ (hats off to the cook by the way for the solid effort), all the competitors went back to their cars, trying their best to get the most out of their subwoofer systems to have a chance at the $500 cash on offer for the loudest recorded car on the day.
As the day progressed, numbers fluctuated, meaning the results were always going to be pretty close in the elimination rounds. The final results standings were as follows:
