Being a popular event to showcase some of the hottest hotrods, classics and custom cars and bikes from around Australia, the Meguiar’s Motorex name has become synonymous with the best that Australia has to offer. Being held annually, this show gives customises and restorers a fair amount of time to perfect what their skills have to offer. Over the years, we have seen many more rotaries and 4 cylinders become recognised for their attention to detail to a level which competes with the biggest of muscle cars, and this year an explosion occurred within the halls of the Olympic Park in Sydney’s Homebush. With Danny Makdessi’s “CUSTOM 1” WRX taking out the “Overall Impact Champion” and “Paintwork Champion” trophies, the bar has been raised for all future competitors and a new aspiration level has been highlighted. Many of the regular show series cars attended as well as a few new additions to the show scene, and the inclusion of a few of Australia’s best purpose built drag cars proved that this show can really mix it up and create a family event for everyone. Chris Retzos’s 1957 Chevrolet Coupe stole 4 trophies along the way including the “Best of Breed – Street Machine” category Many people ask custom shops how they too can build cars worthy of entering this show? But the truth is that many hours of hard labour, parts and knowledge can not be compromised to build a car which is destined to become a classic. We here at Custom Cars Online look forward to bringing you features of many of the high profile cars from this show in upcoming features. As we do not discriminate against make, model or age, you can be sure that if you want to see the best mix of top quality cars, then this is the website to keep an eye out on. |
